The Malaysian Pencil Company Limited was incorporated on 25th March, 1964 to manufacture and market drafting and writing materials for the Malaysian market.
However, the founders soon saw the need for foreign technical assistance and in 1967 invited STAEDTLER Noris GmbH to become a shareholder.
STAEDTLER Noris GmbH, a company incorporated in Germany, shareholder through STAEDTLER Russell Sdn. Bhd., is responsible for providing management expertise including technical know-how and training of personnel for STAEDTLER (MALAYSIA) BHD.

Injecting capital and technical expertise produced results and the company not only increased production of wood-cased pencils from 7.2 million units in 1967 to over 100 million units in 1992 but also ventured into pencil slat manufacturing in 1970 and ballpoint pen and fibre-tipped pen manufacturing in 1975.

In order to market and sell our products nationwide effectively, STAEDTLER Marketing Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of STAEDTLER (MALAYSIA) BHD was established in 1977.
